Casentino Forest National Park

Sunday, October 24th was an interesting excursion organized in the Photo Casentino Forest National Park. Much of the Fotoclub Polyphemus was unwilling to miss the appointment and joined the expedition, although the forecast does not promise anything good for the morning.

to guide the photographer Michele Venturini, Casentino and experienced so much of nature photography as the environment of the Park. Extremely available and very competent person.

As expected the weather was not helping us ... wind, fog, and some "shower" that rains from the branches.
However, the forest is surrounded by a charming atmosphere, the colors of autumn are in the midst of their glory, the tall trees are projected into the sky, playing hide in the fog, giving us a continuous fall of leaves. The Casentino Forest Park has a very clear undergrowth and accessible, unlike many other surrounding woods.

The trip took place near the Apennine ridge of Badia Prataglia From the village we got into the car to the pitch Fangacci, to reach the summit of Monte Penna.
The fog prevented us admire the wonderful view from the pen, but instead has allowed us to take interesting photos in the forest, characterized by an atmosphere at least unusual.

The intention is to return as soon in this wonderful place. From Passo della Calla to La Verna is possible to make long treks surrounded by these spectacular forests (the most famous is the path I believe "00 GEA). A few steps away from the ridge is also the nature reserve of Sasso Fratino (which just last year he celebrates 50 years of its foundation), with a reserve of inestimable value, which has recently earned the attention of the magazine National Geographic, for this is of great natural interest in Italy and in Europe.
